Safe handling of lead-based paint

A highly-toxic substance, lead based paint was often used as a coating for household areas until it was banned for commercial use. More recently it has been associated with a range of serious health problems resulting from the ingestion of dust particles when lead based paint is disturbed or removed.

Employers have a legal obligation to control the exposure workers have with lead contaminated dust and provide a safe waste management system for the debris.

TUFWRAP create sealed and fully-controllable environments for easy extraction and removal of harmful dust and residue. Using plastic sheeting, TUFWRAP enclose the blasting space and prevent harmful dust particles from spreading into other areas of the worksite.

Contain & remove silica dust

Frequently found on a construction site, silica dust is a toxic material that is produced when bricks, tiles, concrete and other materials are blasted, broken or demolished. These microscopic dust particles are almost impossible to see and are extremely dangerous when inhaled. Australian workplaces must follow stringent health and safety laws in relation to the proper treatment of products containing silica dust.

Employers have a duty of care to their workers to reduce exposure to hazards and put suitable control measures in place, including proper workstation ventilation and containment measures. We create cleanrooms, complete with exhaust ventilation to remove the dust at the point it is produced. These measures keep workers safe from harmful silica dust in accordance with Safe Work Australia’s crystalline silica health monitoring guide.
